| Description: Must have 1-2 years experience. Will compile information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material by performing the following duties: Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests. Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity. Consults catalogs and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications. Types or writes invitation of bid forms and mails forms to supplier firms or for public posting. Writes or types purchase order and sends copy to supplier and department originating request. Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories. Computes total cost of items purchased. Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries. Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates and awards contract to bidders or places orders with suppliers or mail order firms. Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approves bills for payment. Classifies priority regulations. |

| Description: Under limited supervision, responsible for soliciting quotations, engaging in pricing and delivery negotiations, developing strategic partnerships, and employing Lean and Kanban practices in the development of the supply chain. Will purchase electronic components, circuit boards, custom overlays, metal fabricated parts and other items and outside services as it pertains to electronic instrumentation manufacturing operations. Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. CPM, APICS or APP a plus. Should have 8-10 years previous purchasing experience in an electronic instrumentation company, to include experience in purchasing components, circuit boards, custom overlays and metal fabricated parts. Ability to read schematics and blueprints. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel. Mil-Spec experience. Computer experience to include Windows, word processing, and spreadsheet software. Computerized MRP experience preferred. |
